We have had a week of rainy, gloomy days which just so happen to be my favorite. I am sipping on some mint tea with honey, my latest obsession, and spending the day playing catch up, and I desperately need a catch up day. Building margin into your days is one of the best (and free) ways to support your nervous system and body.
September has been such a month of newness—new schools, new rhythms, new friends, new clients. I feel like each moment I have questioned if this is the right way, God has given me such affirmation and confidence, love those little winks from above!
I also struggled the last 2 weeks with some sort of sickness that left me very exhausted, which came out of the blue because my energy has been SO rock solid lately. I am thankful for sickness that strengthened my body (yes occasionally getting sick is good) and that it didn’t pull me totally under. A measure of resilience, something I have been intentionally focusing on the last few years.
Resilient health isn’t about having picture perfect days, resilience is about how you surface on the other side.
Somedays, honestly I don’t feel resilient at all, and other days I feel a wave of resilience wash over me, snapping into action physically and mentally to tackle the day. The beautiful part of being human is we need both—we need both slow and fast, full and minimal, joy and grief. Daily life is lived in the tension of those opposites.
What are your thoughts on resilience?
Wishing you a beautiful shift into this new season of cozy fall!
xx Caroline
Using
After a 2 year search, I have finally found a face moisturizer + oil that I adore. I wanted something that rejuvenated, repaired and brightened, but also soaked right in and didn’t leave my skin feeling greasy! This search felt like a unicorn, but finally found it!! Good, clean ingredients, it’s a bit on the pricier side but they say you only need 2 drops and that is TRUE, this will last forever. I have barely been wearing any makeup lately thanks to this beautiful face oil! Olive oil and olive leaf extract repair and plump the skin while Vitamin C brightens and boosts collagen production, gifting you glowing and youthful skin. Shake to activate and massage 2 luxurious drops into your skin.
You all know I love the benefits of the hemp plant, and honestly with a consistent hemp wellness (internal) routine, my skin has cleared and benefited so much. So I jumped on Primally Pure’s new Regenerative Hemp Serum when it came out a few weeks ago. This serum is instantly soothing and my skin feels so even if that makes sense. And it smells so good, I want to bathe in it! You also only need a few drops! FLOURISH for 10% off >
Temps are finally trending towards cozy weather here! I love getting dressed and ready for the day because I see such a boost in my energy, but also love feeling comfortable. I snagged these put-together, elevated sweatpants and couldn’t be more in love!
Nourishing
My children have been getting 1/2 of these Immune Bloom Jellies each morning and they beg for their “purple jelly”! I have noticed that with this addition, while they have gotten sick, they have still lived life through the sickness—sleeping, eating, playing, living like normal. The goal isn’t to prevent sickness, but rather allow the body to move through it with more ease. Goal accomplished! Turkey Tail, a functional mushroom, is the hero ingredient that boosts the effectiveness of the immune cells which shifts your immune response into a place to navigate sickness easier! Take $10 off >
At the beginning of September, I intentionally had a week of Sakara meals delivered—it was our kids first full week of school, and the first time in 6.5 years of motherhood I have had a quiet house. I used to get these all the time when I was postpartum because I love the energy and ease they bring. I knew I wanted to jump fully back into work but also nourish my body. These meals are so packed with nutrients and SO filling (they lasted me 2 weeks) and it was easy to open the fridge and have a meal in less than a minute so I could be more present in my work, and with my kids after school. I noticed more energy and for sure a shift in my digestion—I felt my body releasing some junk it needed to the first few days. After a week, my skin looked so great too! FLOURISHSAKARA for 20% off >
I have been using this Nourishing Fertility Tonic as my daily “multi” for hormone balance, energy and resilience. No, not currently trying to get pregnant, but this has been such a beautiful addition to balancing my hormones and giving my energy a boost. This is so fun, and easy, to take—not another pill…just take a shot and go about your day!
Enjoying
Cooler weather and brisk walks with our golden retriever—the cooler air is so refreshing to me. I love bundling up in a cozy sweater or my rain coat since it’s been drizzling non stop. Our children’s school has a saying that “there is no such thing as bad weather”…and I love that they are outside exploring nature on the daily. This is my reminder to get their fall + winter gear ordered this weekend!
Hannah Brencher’s new book The Unplugged Hours might just be the best read yet. So many lightbulb moments but equally so much practical encouragement to take the next step in this technology heavy world. Her words nourish your soul deeply. What I love most about this book is that it comes along side you and gives you both a why and a how to why we feel so scattered, impatient and often disconnected not just with each other but with our own hearts.
Shifting
Shifting into a state of resilience—I feel like there are two states to our health—resilience and capacity OR depletion and “stress”. A spirit of resilience is a measure of persistence, capacity and energy to navigate disruptions and still keep blooming in life. Resilient health isn’t about having picture perfect days, resilience is about how you surface on the other side. Resilience isn’t about avoiding or fixing sleep interrupted nights, but rather having the capacity to wake up and tackle the day rather than spiraling down. I have been quietly behind the scenes creating a free resource to help you build resilience. So excited to explore this topic and give you the practical tools to flourish! Doing what I “don’t have time for” …believing that that is always the best thing for me! Looking for the God winks as I like to say—the confirmation that you are doing the right thing or the push in the right direction to “go do the thing.”
